We received this nice post from Andrew Shaw from Wellington, New Zealand, currently living in Queensland, Australia. Andrew we appreciate you sharing it with us and we say incredible job on the restorations.
Andrew submitted the following builds to us and his comments were as follows;
Just thought I would share a couple of my Powerlite builds with you guys. First one my my sons race bike, a 1991 XL which I restored to catalog spec. It was rusted and the chrome was pitted after many years of sitting in a damp garage. Parts sourced globally and new chrome that’s like glass and I couldn’t be happier with the final outcome. Second bike is a 1993 Expert. The candy red frame I sourced from a guy in the USA. It was found in a shed having never been built. I wanted to try something more of a custom build. It has Sumbrosa Turbo red/black fade rims with opposing nipples, and cranks, bars and pedals were matte black powder coated to match the Shimano hubs. An old school DX lever matched to old school calipers, Carbon Cycles carbon fibre forks and a carbon fibre Ferrari F1 seat give it a real modern hot rod look. Currently working on a 1996 Pro with triple tree forks which will be a rider as opposed to another carpet queen. Hope you enjoy!
Andrew we enjoyed it very much please send us your address in Australia and we will send you a Powerlite Tshirt. Great info for other Powerlite restoration enthusiasts out there.
